San Pedro Itzican, La Peña and La Cuesta Visits on Dec. 12th, 2017

Butterflies Sleeping

As with most mornings I visit my new medicinal plant garden at the Lake Chapala Society...early.
This morning I was greeted by the unusual cold and these sleeping beauties.

Our trip to the San Pedro Itzican area east of Mezcala proved to be an unforgettable afternoon.

La Peña

Music Workshop

Our first stop was La Peña, where the towns people awaited Yanin, Gil and Churro for their weekly
music workshop.  This charismatic trio of musicians has been visited La Peña weekly to conduct sound and movement workshops as a form of healing.  Today I was able to participate, and I'm so glad I did!

Knitting Workshop

The townsfolk also eagerly awaited the arrival of Maestra Kari Higgins and her volunteer teachers
to learn the fine art of needle knitting.

La Cuesta

Juan Diego & Laura's Goat Farm

The last stop on our afternoon tour was Juan Diego and Laura's goat farm.

The beautifully tended to organic farm was a treat to visit.

Red Wigglers.

We'd like to thank all the people that are helping make the village towns of the San Pedro Itzican area a little better for the people who live there.

Poco A Poco we can all make a difference.

Happy Holidays.
