It's been 7 months since we broke ground
at the Lake Chapala Society (LCS) Medicinal Plant Garden.
Starting with a kidney shaped, escombro (construction waste) filled pool
in the month of October was not the optimal growing time/location/condition choice,
but Mother Nature is resourceful, forgiving and resilient.
Lemon Grass
Acelga or Swiss Chard
Aloe Vera
An experiment in growing conditions, volunteer involvement, herb and weed
identification and medicinal plant processing and use,
we welcome "volunteer" plants into the mix.
Amaranth
Col
As this is a community garden, we found several food plants in the garden, either
planted or donated by community members.
Comfrey
Datura
And Mother Nature added her own contributions.
East Garden
The Garden is divided into a sun filled West section and a more shaded East section.
As you can see we have room for more plants, so please do feel free to contribute
to this worthy cause.
Kale
Mauricio, the Lead Gardener at the LCS is usually around to accept contributions.
Lavender
Maiz
Rue
Sage
Spiral
Wildflowers
See you in the Garden.
Thanks for sharing this Francisco. I have been away for one month now and have been wondering what the medicinal garden are doing. This is lovely!
